In addition to our title sponsor Mitsubishi Motors, now in their 25th year at Badminton, we are fortunate to enjoy the support of a glittering array of top class businesses, supporting many different aspects of the event.
Foremost among these is Rolex, our Official Timepiece but also of course the sponsor of the Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing – still waiting for its second winner, 13 years after Pippa Funnell; and the FEI, which through the FEI Classics Series brings together the six 4 star events worldwide.
Most of our fence sponsors have been with us for some time. HorseQuest will again be at The Quarry; the Irish Horse Gateway has made Huntsmans Close its own; Swindon Designer Outlet stays with The Mound after its transformation from the sunken road two years ago; Gatehouse/Rodney Powell went to the New Pond when it was first introduced in 2014; KBIS is our official insurance broker and moves this year to the iconic Vicarage Vee; while Savills continue at the Escalator, just next door to the Staircase where they started.
Three new fence sponsors join us in 2016: Alexanders Horseboxes will be at the Silver birch fences in the complex just north of the Lake; while Jack Wills take up residence at the Oxers, in front of Badminton House and part of the garden complex shared with our Charity of the Year World Horse Welfare; Devoucoux Saddles are at the Keepers Brush, one of the oldest fences on the Badminton course and the last big effort for the horses.
Supporting other vital parts of the event are The Mark Todd Collection, with the 4 Big Screens; Horseware Ireland whose name has become synonymous with Radio Badminton; NFU Mutual supporting the Members’ Enclosure; Harry Hall the competitors’, owners’ and grooms’ buggy shuttle; Oscar Pet Foods the all-important pet waste stations in the trade stand concourses and on the Campsite; Spillers the feed for the competing horses; Bedmax their bedding in the stables; and Wadworth, the family brewery from Devizes, official supplier of beer and other beverages.
Fairfax Saddles, Chatham Shoes and Crown Pavilions are also official Supporters of the event, with a major presence on the Screens and Radio, while the Worshipful Company of Saddlers, the Worshipful Company of Farriers and Beaufort Embryo Transfer all give excellent special prizes.
Event Director Hugh Thomas said “Badminton needs substantial commercial support in order to deliver the best possible public facilities, competition conditions and prize money and we are delighted that these companies wish to be involved here.”
