What’s on at Badminton 2022

There is so much to see and do at Badminton Horse Trials 2022.

Dressage display by Laura Tomlinson

Thursday and Friday lunchtime – Main arena – 12.30pm

Laura, who won team gold and individual bronze dressage medals at the London Olympic Games and who has been a mainstay of the British Dressage squad since 2006, will be accompanied by a rider from her home team, with the display culminating in a freestyle-to-music performance.

Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain Stallion Display

Friday – Main Arena – following the conclusion of the dressage

There will be a stallion display on Friday evening, presenting the best of British sport horse breeding. The 12 stallions will include Tomatillo, clone of Finn and Mary Guinness’s 2004 Badminton winner Tamarillo, and Britannia’s Mail, out of Lucinda Fredericks’s 2007 Badminton-winning mare, Headley Britannia, Tiger Attack, Pennineview Bee Spritely, Ashway Laurenzo, KL Mac and Catherston Oakley.

Top Dogs Have A Go Agility Arena

Located by the Main Arena

New for each day of the 2022 event, bring your dog to Badminton and have a go at Dog Agility.

Agility was created as a special canine attraction at Cruft’s in 1978. Today competitive events are held worldwide with the UK providing champions who take on and regularly win against world-class competitors.

The equipment used is specially designed fences; weave poles, contact equipment (a bit of the dog must touch a white bit!), tunnels and tyres all built to safe and exacting Kennel Club specifications. In competitions dogs incur 5 faults for any knockdown, missing a contact or any other mistake the judge sees. The judge indicates faults by raising his hand. All the dogs compete against the clock and scores are assessed to declare a winner.

Badminton have organised some great ground so make sure you bring the dog and let your dog strut its stuff in style!

The Shetland Pony Grand National

Saturday – 10.30am – Main Arena

Make sure you take your seats, pick your favourite and cheer on these amazing racing Shetland Ponies and their young jockeys. The louder you cheer the faster they go.

There will be two heats and a final for the fastest combinations and this is the perfect warm-up for the main cross country action that will follow.

The Albert Rogers Fun Fair

Badminton wouldn’t be the same without the Albert Rogers Fun Fair. Entertainment for the whole family throughout the course of the Horse Trials.
