Biography

Wouter and Quintera, a mare he has produced since she was a four-year-old, made their Badminton debut last year, completing in 46th place. They subsequently earned their first place on a senior Belgian team, for the European Championships at Blenheim last year, but were eliminated on the cross-country.

Wouter, who has represented Belgium at youth championships, collecting a Junior team bronze medal in 2003 on Spinalong Susie, is from an eventing family—his uncle, Dirk van Mieghem was the first Belgian to complete Badminton and his cousins have represented Belgium. 

He is married to Katrien Arnauts; they live in Verrebroek and have two young children, Feline and Tuur. He works full-time as general manager for a road construction company and is trained by Kai Steffen Meier.
