Biography
It will be a first Badminton for amateur British rider Libby Seed (24), one of the younger riders at Badminton this year. At the end of last year with Badminton entry Heartbreaker Star Quality Libby won the CCI4*L at Strzegom – her first international win. After studying medical sciences at Exeter University, Libby, who is based near Bromham in Wiltshire, now works full time as a medical sales executive.
At the age of five Libby became a member of the Avon Vale Pony Club. She spent a lot of her childhood hunting and represented the PC in all three disciplines and in 2012 was 4th at the Open PC eventing championships. In 2013 she was a member of the British European gold medal winning pony team finishing in 7th place with Mr Vick. In 2016 she was reserve for the YR team and the following year (2017) rode as an individual at the European Championships finishing 16th with Carolyn Bates stallion Philanderer (by Jumbo). In 2017 with What a Catch she completed her first 5* at Pau.

Heartbreaker Star Quality owned by the rider and Margaret and Jonathan Seed is an Irish-bred (ISH) 11-year-old mare. Bred by Cora Horan she is by Boswell Mr Heartbreaker (also the sire of Osberton YH 7-year-old champion Quidam de Lux) out of mare by OBOS Quality. She was acquired by Libby as a five-year-old sales livery and never left. After a difficult start she settled to the job. Libby now has a three-year-old embryo transfer (ET) out of her by the SHB(GB) graded son of chilli Morning, The After Party.
