Biography

Aistis has been a familiar face at eventing championships since 2005 as the sole representative of Lithuania. He has completed Badminton twice on Commander VG, last year in 37th place and in 2023 when they were 26th, and the partnership, which has been together for 10 years, completed the CCI5* at Pau, France last year.

They have also contested two European championships, in 2021, when they finished 25th at Avenches, Switzerland, and last year at Blenheim, plus the 2022 world championships at Pratoni del Vivaro.

Aistis is a professional rider who also competes in international show jumping. He lives in Viborg, Denmark, where he and his wife, Helene Stenshoj, a dressage rider, run an equestrian business. They have a son and a daughter.

Commander VG will be making his 15th start at CCI5* level of competition, more than any other horse entered this year.
When Commander VG and Aistis Vitkauskas made their Badminton debut in 2023, they became the first Lithuanian combination to compete at the venue since records began in 2008. This will be their third time competing at Badminton.
