British rider Selina Milnes (48) is a professional rider with her own training and competition yard near Clevedon in North Somerset. She competed here last year completing with Iron (24th) her entry this year also. In September 2022 the pair was the winner of the Nations Cup 4* at Ballindenisk and in 2021 was 8th in the 5* at Pau.

Selina first attained 5* level with Overton Sunrise, with who she was successful at Burghley. Bodidily also enjoyed success there (2010). She enjoys producing young horses and last year was 3rd in the seven-year-old World Young Horse Championships at Le Lions (Cooley Snapchat).

Selina trains with Dickie Waygood and Ian Woodhead.

Selina (nee Elliott) is married to Scott – an equine vet and clinical director at B&W Equine Vets – and the couple has a nine-year-old daughter. Selina’s brother Grieg is a farrier for Team GB.

Iron owned by William and Angela Rucker, is a 15-year-old Belgium-bred (BWP registered) gelding. He is by the grand prix dressage stallion Aquilino (a son of Argentinus) out of a mare by the Donnerhall son Donnerschlag. He was acquired as a six-year-old from Richard Sheane in Ireland and has since been produced by Selina. He was 8th in his first 5* at Pau 2021.
