Biography
It will be a first Badminton for American rider Alexandra (Allie) Knowles (38) who is based in Lexington. In 2023 with Badminton entry Morswood she completed Pau 5*L (18th).
Allie Knowles is a professional rider and reached the top levels of the sport with the thoroughbred Sound Prospect with who she completed her first 5* in 2016. She is the resident trainer at Valley View Farm owned by Jim and Katie O’Brien owners of Morswood.
Allie and her partner has a three-year-old daughter.
Alexandra trains with Ian Stark
Morswood is a 16-year-old Irish Sport Horse registered gelding. Bred by John Doherty he is by Ricardo Z out of a mare by the thoroughbred Present Arms. He was originally produced by Piggy March and Susannah Berry and won at 1 & 2* level and completed the world 7-year-old championship before being acquired by Alexandra. He is described by Allie as ‘the perfect pony’.
