Biography

Alex has twice completed Badminton, finishing third in 2024 with the mare Quindiva, his ride this year, and 36th in 2018 with Zagreb, his first top ride.

He has produced Quindiva, who he describes as a ‘diva’, taking after her name, all the way through the grades, from her first international competition in 2018. In 2024, they were placed eighth at Burghley.

He bought her from Ireland as a five-year-old. She is registered with the Oldenberger studbook and was bred by Cliodhna Carrol.

Alex lives near Bridgwater in Somerset, as do Quindiva’s owners, the Roe family.

Although he rode as a child and teenager, in Pony Club Games, horseball and show jumping, his sport was originally rugby and he didn’t start eventing seriously until he was working as a farrier and met his now wife, Simmone, who was running a livery yard and competing to intermediate level.

They have three daughters, Elloise, Sienna and Florence who are all ride and are involved in Team Bragg.
