Biography
Emma’s first Badminton with Icarus, in 2024, ended in a withdrawal after dressage, but last year they completed in 52nd place. They made their five-star debut at Burghley in 2023, finishing 18th with a double jumping clear, and have since completed there twice more.
Icarus came to Emma eight years ago as a five-year-old, having been imported from the Netherlands by the show jumper Jamie Wingrave.
Emma studied biological sciences at the Royal Veterinary College before turning to full-time riding. She was a world student champion in 2022 and in 2024 won the U25 British Championship at Bramham on The Buzz Factor.
She lives near Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, from where she competes a string of horses. She trains with Ian Woodhead, Kylie Roddy and Nick Turner. She enjoys skiing, playing the piano, reading and fitness training.
