Biography
Katie enjoyed a great Badminton debut last year, finishing 11th with Treworra (stable name ‘Wilf’), her ride again this year. She won the Laurence Rook Trophy for the best British rider who had not previously completed Badminton.
They went on to be 20th at Burghley last year and in 2024 were 13th at Pau, France, their first CCI5*-L.
Treworra is a British Sport Horse by the jumping sire Jaguar Mail. He was bred by Vin and Liz Jones of Preci-Spark, who have produced numerous five-star horses. He was bought by Angela Hislop as a four-year-old and has been with Katie since he was five.
Katie, who studied physiotherapy at Teesside University, lives near Barnard Castle in Co Durham. She is married to Ciaran, who learned to ride after he met Katie and now events at grassroots level; they have a son, Peter, aged 10.
Katie is trained by former European champion Nicola Wilson.

- Katie and Treworra have improved their first phase score in each of their three CCI5* outings, breaking the 30 barrier for a 29.3 on their last outing at the level at Burghley in 2025.
- Treworra has left all of the rails up in the showjumping on two of his three CCI5* rounds.
