Biography
Sarah has represented Ireland nine times at senior championship level since 2013 and was a member of the team that won silver at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, USA.
Sarah has completed Badminton five times since 2013, including in the last two years with Grantstown Jackson, 17th in 2024, her ride this time.
She has produced Grantstown Jackson through the grades since one-star in 2018, having taken him on as a four-year-old from Ciaran Glynn. She took him to his first CCI5*-L, Pau, France, in 2023, finishing 22nd. Last year they were seventh at Boekelo and fifth at Aachen as well as completing Badminton.
Sarah, whose sisters Nicola and Niamh also event, is married to Niki Potterton. They have a son, James, with whom Sarah goes mountain-biking at weekends, and live in Dunboyne, Co Meath, where they run Stellor Sport Horses.
She originally worked as a lab technician before a career in producing and competing horses and is qualified in scuba-diving at dive master level.
