The judges of the annual best tradestand competition had an enviable task, with such a superb array of displays to explore, yet also an extremely tricky one, given the high standard and vast range. In the end, Nick Arkell, Gale Dale, Bridget Burbidge and James Gegg chose prize-winners that demonstrate the eclectic selection that is such a feature of the MARS Badminton Horse Trials.

The Dartmoor Shepherd, purveyors of luxurious products made from the fleeces of native Dartmoor sheep, won the 6m and under section, with clothing brand Newmarket 875 second and African Horse Safaris third.

Joules, a regular Badminton presence, was named the winner of the over-6m section, with Equestrian Reflections, makers of arena mirrors, second and Caledonian Play, sellers of wooden play equipment, third.

In the multi/pavilion category, Sophie April Mann Textiles Design took top honours, followed by Turner & Bell (in the Country Living pavilion) and Go Emu Ltd (Eden Crafts).
