It will be a first Badminton for British rider Ashley Edmond (25) who is based near Weston-Super-Mare in North Somerset. Last year with Badminton entry Triple Chance the pair completed their first four-star at Pau.
Ashley grew up with horses and after leaving college set up her own yard starting and training young horses. Triple Chance is her first and only horse to compete at four-star. Ashley trains with Jo May and Lizzell Winter. She enjoys skiing, running and cooking.
Triple Chance (aka Johnnie) is a British-bred SHB-GB registered 13-year-old grey gelding. Bred by Hannah Matthews of Woolaston Stud, Lydney, he is by the thoroughbred Langarth Triple out of Joli Woppit by the thoroughbred Joli Wasfi. He was acquired as a four-year-old in partnership with owner and friend Bridget Heal originally as a project to bring on and sell ‘as he was quite big for me and not the typical event horse – but he soon proved me wrong’. He has been produced up the grades by Ashley. ‘He has a very good temperament and always tries his best.’
