Biography
Regis (47) is the proprietor and chief instructor at Oak Stables (Ecurie du Chene) a riding school located on the edge of the Saint Hubert Forest in Yvelines, 30kms west of Paris. Regis completed his first Badminton in 2018 – his last visit here – with Kaiser (51st) like Tarastro also an Anglo Arab. Last year with Tarastro Regis completed Pau 5* (16th). The combination also completed in 2019.
Regis made his four-star debut with Debuit and won the HSBC training bursary in Luhmuhlen 2010 after finishing in 12th place.
Regis is married and has three children aged 12, 17 and 20, two of who compete in the sport (at junior and pony level.)
Tarastro is a 16-year-old Anglo Arab gelding. He is by Sarastro out of a mare by Loo Native. He was acquired by the rider in 2010 because he really loved his sire Sarastro (who has proved to be a successful sire of event horses). Tarastro is now considered one of the family. Regis also rides the 12-year-old 4* horse Bennix de Bory by the same sire.
