Biography
Emma’s first visit to Badminton was in 2019 when she completed with two horses, Waldo lll and Pennlands Douglas.
She is entered this time with Jeweetwel (stable name ‘Huey’) on whom she completed Burghley last year and in 2024.
In February this year, Emma took the horse to the Mata do Duque circuit in Portugal where they won a CCI4*-L and were fifth in a CCI4*-S.
Jewetweel, which means ‘you know who’ in Dutch, is a Dutch warmblood bred by Joop Van Brenk whose granddaughter Kim van der Horst broke the horse in. He was brought over from the Netherlands by Carron Nichol and Emma acquired him at the end of his five-year-old year.
Emma has produced him since BE100. He was a flighty youngster and it took time to build his trust. He has a travelling mascot called Katie the Carrot.
Emma has ridden since the age of three. Her mother, who competed up to grand prix level in dressage, hired out hunters and Emma was involved in riding them, which encouraged her to start eventing. She had worked in sales for 12 years before deciding to take up a career in horses.
She is married to Richard Webb, who showjumped up to Area Trials level and is now a coachbuilder owning the company Highcross Horseboxes Ltd.
They live in Leicestershire where her mother owns and runs Vale View Equestrian Centre. Emma coaches and produces young horses.
She is trained by Christopher Bartle, Steph Cooper and Amy Woodhead.
