It will be the seventh consecutive visit to Badminton for British rider Sarah Bullimore (49) who now has seven completions of the event. It will however be a first Badminton for the homebred Corouet with who she was the individual bronze medallist at the 2021 European Championships. Last year the pair completed Kentucky 5* (20th) and was 8th in the 4*L at Blenheim.

Sarah runs a purpose built equestrian facility in Keysoe, North Bedfordshire with her husband Brett. Sarah (nee Longshaw) rode her first four-star at Burghley in 1996 with Ballycotton who she then rode on his record breaking 7th completion of Badminton in 1997 (the horse had previously completed six times with Andrew Harris). She has represented team GBR in the FEI Nations Cup series and with Reve Du Rouet was short-listed for the British squad for the 2014 WEG, competed as individuals at the 2015 European Championships at Blair Castle and long-listed for the 2018 WEG in Tryon. With Reve Du route she gained 13 5* completions (4 at Badminton) and a 5* best when 2nd at Pau in 2017 – that year Sarah completed the event with three horses in the top 13.

Sarah is also a successful producer of young horses and has represented Great Britain seven times at the World Young Horse Championships at Le Lion d’ Angers; she was 6th there in 2017 & ’18 with her homebred gelding Corouet and last year she won the bronze medal in the six-year-old championship with the homebred Corimiro (by Amiro Z) a half-brother to Corouet (by Balou du Rouet), an embryo transfer from Lilly Corinne with who she was 6th at Luhmuhlen and 13th at Pau 4* events in 2017. Lilly Corinne has eight embryo transfer offspring.

Sarah trains with Dickie Waygood and Ian Woodhead

Corouet owned by the Kew Jumping syndicate and Brett and Sarah Bullimore is a 12-year-old British-bred, Oldenburg registered gelding. He was bred by Sarah and Brett and is by Balou du Rouet (also the sire of Billy the Red and Reve du Rouet) out of Lilly Corinne by Lovis Corinth – the eldest of eight for his dam.  In 2018 with Sarah he was the winner of the BE 7-year-old Young Horse championship and later completed the 7-year-old world Championship at Le Lions. After a successful season in 2021 the pair was selected for the European Championships wining individual bronze. It is a first Badminton for Corouet who completed Lexington 5* in 2022.
